Gina is an accomplished and extremely energetic writing professional with 18 years of experience in journalism, editing, PR/media relations and marketing. Her writings focus on topics related to human potential, holistic wellness/integrative medicine, consciousness transformation, and living life inspired by higher purpose and an awareness of one’s “personal relevance.” She has interviewed a number of distinguished individuals in the fields of complementary medicine and consciousness studies, including best-selling authors Dr. David R. Hawkins, Dr. Lewis Mehl-Madrona, and renowned research scientist Marilyn Schlitz, PhD.
In her hometown, Gina is a contributing writer for PITTSBURGH Magazine, a core writer for Kids N Cranberry Magazine, and a feature writer for Point of Light: Journal of Meaningful Living; she also serves on Point of Light’s editorial advisory board. Gina has also published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Butler Eagle and Pittsburgh Business Times. Gina’s first nonfiction book on health intuition, The Highest and The Best, was released in December 2000. It received favorable reviews from New Age Journal, Midwest Book Review and others. She is also by-lined as Editor of a textbook used in the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University graduate schools of business. Her writing is included in the 2005 anthology Spirit Stories, by publishing maven Angela Hoy. Gina ran a successful marketing consulting practice for eight years before transitioning to full-time writer in 1998. Prior to this, she served in various corporate positions, including editor for international CPA firm KPMG and marketing director for The Pace Group—and architectural firm in Virginia/Maryland/DC. While in Washington, she was advertising director for a civic promotions company that coordinated special events in the nation’s capital, such as the National Cherry Blossom Festival and Cancer Ball. Gina helped to recruit celebrities, performers and politicians for these events—Larry King, Art Buchwald, Jack Kent Cooke and Washington Redskins, to name a few. Gina graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 1985 with a BS degree in communications/public relations, and has completed graduate coursework in creative writing. While in college, she was employed by Chiles Public Relations in Florida, owned by the son of former Sen. and Gov. Lawton Chiles. The agency’s mix of clients included the Seminole Indian Tribe, TGV (French bullet train), and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Elie Wiesel. Currently, as an editor and creative consultant, Gina brings all her marketing and media skills to bear on the production and promotion of writing projects she is called to work on. Additionally, she has parlayed her event planning skills into the formation of an inspired events planning company, Epiphany Works, LLC (see “inspired event planning” link). From time to time, Gina leads workshops on both the craft and business of writing and publishing. She is a member of The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh Professional Women Writers. On a personal note, Gina is a lifelong student of classical ballet, modern and lyrical dance—another form of expression, besides writing, that brings her great joy. She lives in the Harmony countryside with her husband, two children and various frisky pets.
